This past weekend, we took your donations and distributed food to 180 families who have been severely affected by Typhoon Haiyan.
All 12 of our girls stayed up late into the night, preparing the food packages for easy distribution. The pictures above show them hard at work. The next morning, four of our staff and two of the girls in our home, rescued just last year from trafficking, went with the shipment to distribute the goods to those who needed it most.
Below are some pictures of the two girls and one of our staff, playing games, singing songs and praying with the kids in the community where we distributed goods. Our girls were so grateful to be able to give back to their community, and both cried most of the way home.
On behalf of our staff, our girls, and those who have been devastated by the Typhoon I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all who donated– we raised over $15,000 in just a few days for relief care and restoration of our facility!!
We are sending out another shipment of food, toiletries and construction materials this week. If you would still like to donate– $4.57 pays for one care package of food for one family. Click here to give online.
And please remember the Philippines in your prayers in the weeks to come. The hard work has just begun.
One Life at a Time,
Crystal
